There are many, many things I really despise.
Close to the top of the list are year-end retrospectives. So far I’ve avoided seeing any, even the ads for any (and even the ADS bother me), but I know they’re coming. Hate them. I don’t know why. They just bother me, along with Ugg boots, magical realism, cotton in medicine bottles, and wearing my watch on my left hand (even though I’m a rightie).
Can’t we just let the old year go without getting all mournful and nostalgic about it?

Snicker. You sound just like me. I was just sitting here debating about doing my next RtB post (due Dec 31, I think) on being a scrooge about New Year’s resolutions. Cause I am. Big time. I hate the very idea of them. So much so I’m having a difficult time working up steam for a post about it but I still have time.
OTOH, I kind of like retropectives. As long as they don’t get too sappy or, what’s the word I’m looking for, trashy, maybe? The ones on who’s famous that’s died during the year are always interesting to me.
