May Queen

by Megan Frampton on May 1, 2007

queen-of-night.jpgI am such an OCD goober that I get really excited the first day of the month. Somehow, I think it signifies a fresh start and all that, when really it’s just Tuesday.

But no matter. I am doing well with Road To Passion, the agent is bugging people on Lessons In Love‘s behalf (I’ve gotten one rejection, but it was one of the nicest ‘no’s I’ve ever seen), and the Well-Dressed Spouse and I just swapped out winter clothing for summer, which is usually the time for one of us to grouse about the way the other one packs things (I am the grousee, SOMEONE is far more particular than I am). But this time, it was fine.

Tulips are my favorite flower, and this tulip, called Queen of Night, is my absolute favoritest of the favorites flower. It’s so dark purple it’s almost black.

I love all flowers, actually, even carnations (sometimes). I wish I didn’t have a black thumb.

Is it possible for something to have a name like “Queen of Night” and not be amazingly gorgeous?

…I think no. Unfortunately, my thumb is not just black, but gangrenous.

I like the first of the month, especially this one … but it’s also bad because it means the D-day approaches. *sob*

I just love that it’s May. I made it! Another winter behind me and a whole spring and summer to bask in. *sigh* I tell ya, you are very industrious. I have been thinking of putting away my winter clothes but then it gets just a touch too cold again. So I’m procrastinating.

You know, it has come to the point when I read Road To Passion I can automatically see the cover and I swear it’s already at the bookstore. Don’t know if that makes any sense but it was just a funny thing I noticed tonight when reading the post. I was like, damn, I want to buy that book and where did I see it? Oh, right, it’s not out yet.

I hope the acceptance for Lessons in Love find it’s way to you this month and if not then let it be June 1st ;)

I adore black/purple tulips. They look heavy, the same way that peonies look heavy. (Although peonies are fluffy heavy.)

May. What exactly happened to March? I remember April, I do, but I’m feeling as if I missed a chunk of time somewhere for it to be May now. Hm.
