Closing In.

I am over 67K on Road To Passion, and have to start thinking about wrapping everything up. Not easy when you don’t know anymore precisely what’s going on in your story.

So today the Thoughtful Spouse has taken the eight year-old out for a few hours (sushi! gelato! video games!) so I can write. Problem is, I am in a pissy mood, and it has been hard to get started. But after liberal applications of tea and cashews, I have written something over 1,000 words, with the promise of writing more tonight (Social Spouse has functions to attend; his wife, Introverted Weird Spouse is just as happy to stay home, besides which there is the eight year-old to consider).

Gah. It feels odd, knowing the end is coming, but not certain at all about it. I do know I am going to make one character who would usually be written as nice into a bitch, and that my characters’ most important driving issue is Choice. Other than that? Nothing.

    “Introverted Weird Spouse”

    Heh. Hee-hee. Snort. Chortle.

    :)

Liz, trying to figure out why adding “spouse” to the end of that makes being introverted and weird sound so much better. It sounds all deliciously defiant in a non-violent sort of way.

    Exactly! That’s me!

I’d stay home, too. Staying home rules.

And hey, if you can’t figure out what’s going to happen, chances are the reader won’t know either. This is a great sign that your book is not predictable.

PS. Tell Dad I said hi, okay?
