I was talking to the Pennsylvania Princess last week, and we were chuckling about the apparently oft-asked question, ‘where do you get your ideas?’ Because I get my story ideas all the time–movies, other books, people interacting at the gym or the grocery store, fights with the Spouse (see: Mothering Heights), etc. How do you not get story ideas?!? It’s life!
And yesterday, while at the gym, I was listening to The Jam‘s Setting Sons, easily one of my favorite records of all time. The song “Little Boy Soldiers” came on, and per The Jam’s usual style, is a scathingly bitter indictment of politics and war and who gets caught in the crossfire. Which then gave me my hero’s motivation in Road To Desire, which was cool. I totally had an open-mouthed, wide-eyed moment of epiphany at the gym. Neat!

Did you hear? Sean Bean and his almost 4th wife called off their wedding. Picture me jumping and down for joy. Dude needs a 4th wife, like I need to eat a piece of pizza.
