Big Footprint = Big ?
Okay, so I’m kinda embarrassed that I find David Beckham so incredibly hot. I mean, he is, but I’ve also heard he makes a bag of hammers seem smart. Not that I need to talk to him, but I don’t want him to be stumped for an answer when I say “Hello.” (Thanks, Ava Gardner–I think she made that comment about Clark Gable). Plus his wife irks me no end (sorry, KJ).
So my excuse today for talking about him is that he has the “Largest Carbon Footprint In Human History!,” according to Carbon Trust UK. His fleet of 15 cars and his frequent air travel give him an annual output of 163 tons of carbon dioxide yearly. The average Englishman contributes about 9.4 tons. The average American generates about 7.8 tons.
Don’t you think someone could figure out how to make a fuel out of his hotness? Or maybe air balloons, courtesy of Posh’s chest?

He is totally hot, but as well as being dumber than a pile of rocks, he also has a high-pitched squeaky voice. Sort of the way Tom Selleck is hot until he talks but smarter. And Posh just makes me laugh. Her boobs are so fake, she’ll never drown because she has her own life vest implanted into her chest.

Don’t apolgize to me. It’s cool. Posh still cracks me up.

Wha - Posh’s boobs are fake??
I can’t look at Beckham - my eyes are still watering from the ugly dog. Why, Megan, why?

You know, EKM, I have never heard him speak. There’s a totally foxy trainer at my gym with that high squeak, and I just can’t find him attractive.
KJ, I do admit to being fascinated by her.
And Abby, there are even more real-faux Tiffany lamps on Amazon. This one was only the first I found–I couldn’t look away.

Totally agree–Becks is hot, until he talks.
And the dog lamp–why, oh why??? Though someone once gave my parents a bizarre lamp in the shape of glass snail which is very similar. I think they hid it in the garage.

Those figures for the carbon footprints sound unlikely. From the Guardian:
“In fact, the national average for the UK is 9,400kg, about 10 times what would be sustainable for the planet. Still, we’re not the worst, by any means: the average US carbon footprint is 19,800kg, while the impact on climate of the average Aussie is 18,000kg. Developing countries are far more sustainable: the average Chinese carbon footprint is 3,200kg, while the average Indian emits 1,200kg.”

Shouldn’t post late at night. Got distracted from the main point by trying to think about the stats.
I’m just enormously attracted to faithful men. And while I know Beckham isn’t infallible in his fidelity, the fact that they’ve nonetheless made the marriage work, and clearly love their children - that’s the bit I find attractive.
And Posh - I think she takes a lot of stick for not being talented, when she’s actually very talented at being a celebrity.

Marianne:
I don’t doubt you, or the Guardian’s, stats. The carbon footprint sounded off, but it was the Carbon Trust, so I thought they might know. But anyway–yes, I love faithful men, too, which is why Clive Owen is so darn hot. And I have a secret, unwilling fascination with Posh, who is good at being Posh. Although she is too thin.
