So, instead of buying a lame-ass wanna-be modern desk with glass and cheap metal, we asked the contractor to build a desk into the office. This is the left side of it, it’s got room for two people to work simultaneously, and our clever painter painted it white and put a high-gloss lacquer over the top. Very Apple of us, I think.
The blue tape is marking off where the builders drilled holes for the wires to feed through down to the outlets.
Eventually, I will actually WRITE at this desk**. Plus it’s got a skylight right above, yay!

That looks so sweet! I’m sure you’ll write many a bestseller there!

But we like your dumb house!

I love the desk! Very swooopy.
I find myself fantasizing that I can just leave behind all th muck and clutter there to move into a fresh house where the dustbunnies aren’t waging war with grime.
Then I remember that I DID leave all the clutter behind to move into this house six years ago. And I didn’t get around to painting the rooms the colors I wanted then. And an aversion to vacuuming does, uh, foster the reproduction of dustbunnies. Guess I should go clean.
But I love how everything is so fresh and new. The porch, the closet. Just lovely.

I am just loving all these house pics. There’s something really cool about seeing where people live/will live/used to live. Thanks so much for sharing them with us.
I can’t wait to see it when it’s all done (and I’m sure you can’t wait even more than I can’t wait).
Oh, and I serious deck envy.

What can I say, it’s new for me, but very interesting.
