Reason #368 Why I Love Her:

I’ve been friends with the Picky Vegetarian for 20 years or so, best friends for–what, 15 years?–and she continues to surprise and amaze. Take this nugget, gleaned on a recent phone call:
“I have a rule about mixing fruit with non-fruit. [Name redacted] broke the rule when she put apples into the salad.”
No strawberries in spinach salad? No orange sections with seitan (I would say chicken, but look at her name)? Mango in spicy Thai noodles?
“No.”
Said dismissively, as if to think otherwise is ludicrous.

Very funny. I am quite the opposite. Love to mix fruit in my food. Drives the DH mad and kids Mad. They hate it. They would love the Picky Vegetarian. That salad looks fab to me. They would want to throw it at me and don’t get me started with me putting nuts in their food which I love and they also hate! Ugh.

Love the picture but what’s sprinkled on top of the salad?

No idea, EKM.
And Kwana, you and I are secretly the same. I love nuts and fruit in my salad!

You could always trap her with the “Tomato Technicality”

I like strawberries on my spinach salad. But then, I sometimes like pineapple on pizza, too. Fruit makes everything better.
(p.s. The white stuff on the salad looks like it’s maybe feta cheese?)
