Update on Mom
So Mom called today, very apologetic that she hadn’t called me back. And honestly, I believe she was–she is just kinda clueless, sometimes, and we both know she wasn’t crazy about being a mom, but she likes me okay.
And here is some fun with our new scanner:
This was taken close to twenty years ago. I used to wear contact lenses and very, very dark lipstick. I still wear silver hoop earrings a lot, but my eyebrows aren’t quite as heavy-handed, I don’t think.
Anyway, my mom and I look a lot alike, don’t you think?

Wow, for a twenty year old picture you guys look great. Actually, now that I think about it maybe a picture of me from twenty years ago wouldn’t be that bad - I was definitely a skinny thing
Since my father has been traveling for work (the man retired 6 years ago but is now full-time again and overseas for 8 weeks at a time) I have been getting closer to my mother. Not so close that I could eat a meal with her by myself but close enough that I can go shopping with her locally. Kinda nice but at first I was thinking I could totally handle a mom like yours. Only there when I need her and not bothering me when I don’t
