I've always preferred Mr. Rochester to Heathcliff who turns into a complete bastard when he returns. From Orson Welles through Timothy Dalton (who has played both Heathcliff and Rochester), Ciaran Hinds and now Toby Stephens, Rochester rocks my world. I even like him in the Jean Rhys novel but that maybe because Nathaniel Parker played him in the movie. I even didn't mind William Hurt in the movie with Charlotte Gainsbourg. Really I haven't spent a lot of time thinking about this, I swear it. By the way, I've seen Toby Stephens on stage, and he's way hot in real life. Megan, I’m with you.
