Precipice

by Megan Frampton on January 13, 2010

So last night was one of the first times I’ve seriously considered quitting writing, since I began 8 or so years ago. I’m still considering it, for myriad reasons, but am holding off because my horoscope said to wait on big decisions, that things are pending and change is coming (yes, cynical, no-God me is listening to her horoscope).

So it hasn’t been the greatest of times lately. But then I got the word that Netflix will soon be streaming through Wii, which is the system we have, and that totally perked me up. Hey, at least I’m easy.

Anyway, still pondering, going to keep writing until or if I decide to stop. So there I go.

If you quit writing, I will be so upset! Megan, don’t give up. You are so talented.

How far can a precipice?

Don’t give up. Change a few things, but don’t give up.

You’re a writer. You can’t stop. You can try but one day you’ll burst and have to write again. Don’t give up.

I’m reading this again later now with some distance and now see it won’t work. You are a writer and will continue to be. You may change how that looks and that’s ok but you can’t totally put the “pen” away. The ideas and stories will still flow and crowd that pretty little head too much if you don’t let them out. Write already. I you change the intent ok. But write.
Ok now I’m wondering who I’m talking to, you or me?

Maybe you’re just overwhelmed and need a rest? (I know that feeling!). I doubt you could stop writing forever if you tried!! But if you did I would come to Brooklyn and kick your butt. Srsly.
