I am lucky enough to both love my day job (as Community Manager for the Heroes and Heartbreakers romance novel site), and also lucky enough to get to write, as well.
Of course, having a deadline for writing makes the necessity for writing a lot more…necessary, so I’ve been writing way more than when it was just something I wanted to do.
So I just saw the Frampton Boys out the door to go grocery shopping (go them!), and I am settling down to write, since I have a very close deadline, and then I will be working on the follow-up proposal to Vanity Fare (the picture is one a friend took at LAX, where Vanity Fare was featured at an airport bookstore–how cool!).
It makes doing anything but dayjobbing and nightwriting hard, so the house is a catastrophe, but I think that I would prefer to have a good book than a clean house.
I’ve been reading, too–as a challenge to myself, and with a few other people, I am rereading William Faulkner’s The Sound and the Fury, which is about as far away from my usual reading material as you can possibly get without going to other languages. I love the way he writes, even if I don’t understand it most of the time. I’m going to reward myself after I finish with something as romantic and genre-y as I can find.
