The Knicks Spouse and the Son were off to the game on Saturday, so of course I decided to head to a club event where I could dress up in some fabulous couture and drink way too much wine. Before we headed out, however, Liz Maverick and Leanna Hieber came over for last-minute garb adjustment and some photos:

And later, we all assembled for a smoochy photo.

I had a really good time, it was fun playing dress-up. My coat was one of my grandmother’s, which explains the exceedingly nipped-in waist (remove a rib, Megan? Sure!). At least I could get into it.

This weekend, I learned:

1. I need to be alone for a certain amount of time every day, or I start to freak out.

2. I can do a workshop in front of people without turning into a sweat machine.

3. I like wine.

4. Some people get way more obnoxious than me when liking wine.

5. New England Clam Chowder kicks Manhattan Clam Chowder’s ass.

6. My P-I-C, Kwana, totally has my back all the time (and she’s got pix of our weekend here!)

7. The Delightful Phone Friend is the best ever. I never get tired of hanging with her.

8. I can gain five pounds in three days. Who knew?

9. Black is a good color for me.

10. Free books still make me giddy.

11. I have a platonic crush on Loretta Chase.

12. Today, there is not enough coffee in the world. Carry on.

As expected, the Super-Smart Lawyer and I had a great time last night.

So I’m kinda hurting today. But not as bad as the Convivial Spouse, who was out until 5 in the morning.

Thank goodness for play-dates and oatmeal.
