Almost EVERYTHING right now is about waiting–waiting for people to call or email me back, waiting for editors to read my submissions, waiting while the Champion Agent preps new stuff to send out, waiting until Knicks season starts, which means more open time at night for me.

So I got nothing for here. NOTHING, I say!

Sorry. I feel so incredibly–waiting. All I need is an ancient copy of Woman’s Day, and I’ll be transported to some doctor’s waiting room.

Monday

Monday, June 14th, 2010

Yes, it has come to this. My life is so dull and predictable I am titling a blog entry “Monday.” Because, you know, that’s what day it is.

Sheesh.

I was thinking about how I love posting entries here, it’s not a drag or a chore like other people talk about; I like sharing, only the thing is, you have to have something to share to share, feel me?

And I got nothing. Or not much. The Champion Agent is out with a submission, my son is in the School of His Dreams, the Busy Spouse works too much, the friends are awesome (I pestered many of them for book blurbs, and they all delivered!) and I like smoked meats.

I’m not reading or writing enough, the house is moderately clean, it seems like my son is already out of school even though it doesn’t officially end for two weeks, what with half days and such, and I am stressing.

So, yes, it is Monday and nothing is new.

But I’ll post when I’ve got something to say or am vastly irritated (as opposed to my usual state of moderate irritation).

Writing. Boring.

Wednesday, May 5th, 2010

If I were a termite, the whole ‘boring’ thing would take another context entirely.
*
But since I am not, I just have to say that all I am is boring. I am writing still, most every day, and am now officially past the halfway mark with the Work In Progress.

And the laundry has been done, and meals been made, and son managed, etc., blah, etc.

I wish I could be all ‘I discovered this fabulous thing I have to share!’ and ‘I lost five pounds’ (oh, HOW MUCH do I wish that?!?), only I’ve discovered nothing. No, wait–I have discovered one thing:

If you take nonfat plain yogurt, the cheap kind, and line a strainer with a paper towel and strain said yogurt for about 12 hours, give or take, you will have a great approximation of Greek yogurt, which costs at least three times as much as cheap nonfat plain.

Whew. I feel better for having shared.

More later.

Editing . . . editing.

And trying not to curse the warm weather, because I’ll be cursing that it’s too cold before too long, right?

So, back to it.

Weird.

Thursday, July 30th, 2009

So this week has been–not so full of the busy. Which is weird, since I am normally super-stressed and worrying about what is next. No, I haven’t caught up no sleep (that ’sleep when you’re dead’ thing isn’t so funny when it’s real), but I haven’t been as anxious. Which leaves a big gap in my brain.

I am off to do some writing, MY writing, not freelance, so yay. And the Adores His Son Spouse took the day off to spend with the little guy, so I am not Mom for the day. Double yay (any mom who doesn’t feel relief when not on Mom duty is a far, far better person than I).

PS: The pic is for the Faux Critique Partner, who might be venturing out to the East Coast in late September. Can’t promise you this, precisely, but Scott says if you want a tall blonde to be mean to you, he might know someone.

Deprived of Sleep

Monday, June 8th, 2009

Geez, Louise, am I exhausted! The Framptons have led a merry life lately, and I am just so darn tired. I’m not made for this extreme socializing stuff. So I am posting, basically, to say I am tired.

Yeah, it’s come to this.

Sorry.

Tune in later for my cat lovers’ rant, courtesy of the Picky Vegetarian.

Very Sleepy Monday

Monday, May 18th, 2009

A good weekend was had by us, and now I am so, so tired. Not from excessive partying (although I did watch the Millionaire Matchmaker featuring Liz Maverick’s brother! With Liz Herself, natch), but just from life, I think. I have to iron for tomorrow’s band recital; the son plays the saxophone, and has to wear black pants, white shirt and non-sneakers. None of which he had, so we obtained yesterday. He looks so grown up in his white button-up shirt!

And last night, we watched Terminator, the Son’s first R-rated movie. Not necessarily a landmark of which I am proud, but he covered his eyes for the romance, and has heard enough foul language from his classmates to deal with it (I still can’t believe the Dark Knight was only PG-13, btw).

I hope to write tomorrow, but today, I think, is for putting my mental and literal house in order. So, off to do that. Probably will consume some sort of caffeinated beverage.

Tuesday. And That Is All.

Tuesday, April 21st, 2009

Let’s see. Quick update:

It is no longer raining! Weather WIN!
I don’t have faith in the weather anymore, though. It’s gonna have to work hard to regain my trust.
I am writing, albeit not very much. I will be sending the revised version of Mothering Heights to my agent soon.
My son is reading Rick Riordan’s The Lightning Thief, and loving it. He spent over an hour on it yesterday, and read it this morning over breakfast. It’s cool to see him like I was at his age (but he’s not fat, miserable and lonely. TMI?)
I am feeling tapped out as to Risky topics–any Regency-related general interest topics I might wanna tackle? Yeah, me neither.
Everything I made yesterday turned out well. The whole wheat molasses bread is deliciously hearty.
I am inordinately excited about the new trashcans we bought.

Okay. Seriously, that is about everything in my brain right now. Sad, right?

Heard It All Before

Tuesday, April 14th, 2009

So it’s been slog-time here at Casa Frampton, which makes even me bored, and it’s my life.

No writing or editing lately, just work, and futzing on the computer, and such. Boo! But I am just hanging on until the weather doesn’t want to make me cry, and that time is coming. Meanwhile, I was pondering what phrases I use most often:

10. Geez, he’s hot.
9. Just sayin’.
8. Now that’s exactly what I wanted to happen.
7. Shoot.
6. No, I can’t that night.
5. Lemme just check.
4. [son 's name redacted]!
3. Yeah, I meant to do that.
2. God, I’m tired.
1. Coffee?

Reading, Writing, Even Arithmetic

Tuesday, April 7th, 2009

I’ve been busy with life and such, not as much writing/editing as I’d like, but lots of good reading, including some of the fine print with our refinanced mortgage.

That said, there’s not much to blog about, since it is all more of the same. I did find myself picking up a non-romance book following reading another non-romance book, and that hasn’t happened in years.

See? Not so exciting.

But it’s been raining like a moose here, which means that April showers adage is holding up the first part of its bargain. Come on, crocuses (crocii?), shake a leg!
