This is the cover for my June 24th release, a novella title Baring It All (duh–as you can see!). It was a blast to write, it is way lighter in tone than Hero of My Heart, and matches the tone and setting of my October full-length, What Not to Bare.

I’ve finished the synopsis for Don’t You Want Me, Baby? and have sent it to two trusted readers who will shred it for me. The sample chapters have been tweaked, but I need to read them again and make sure they contain all the oomph I’m envisioning the book having.

…And I’ve re-opened, and re-thought, an erotic historical I wrote a few years ago; I’m thinking of new ways to approach the story, and then I’m not sure what I’ll do with it. Except that it’ll be fun to have it out there.

I’m working on a new way of plotting out a book (which is basically to say I AM plotting out a book, whereas I usually just start with one scene, have the Dark Moment in mind, and start writing), and it’s bringing the fact that I don’t really have a clue about what’s happening in my story even more clearly.

But this book should be better than the last, shouldn’t it?, so I have to plot out more than usual.

Which is what I am trying to do.

Ugh.

I took a Zumba class today, and that was a blast! I’m excited to go again, although I can’t do the shoulder shimmy thing yet. Maybe not ever. But I can move my hips, thank goodness.

And other than the plotting and the hip-shaking, not much going on.

Back before returning to a full-time 40 hours a week job, before even doing freelance for a few hours a day, back when I was just at home with my then quite wee son (who is now MY HEIGHT), I spent a lot of time blogging. At least five times a week, sometimes as much as every day.

And I loved it. Still do, actually. I love sharing my thoughts in a public forum, and I liked having the chance to talk with people who perhaps were not inside my Brooklyn apartment, since that was about the extent of my world at the time.

Now I am out and about in the world, and there’s Twitter, and a full-time job, and a son who doesn’t require every waking moment, but there’s writing and life and housework and all the stuff inbetween (not to mention, I’m ten years older, so naturally am about thirty years tireder–my sleep life is measured in dog years, I think).

And I miss blogging! I am going to try to be more active (I’d say “regular,” but that just has some unpleasant connotations).

So let’s see. I am reading ALL THE TIME, I am watching the first season of Sons of Anarchy on my nights to myself (the no-free-time-at-all spouse isn’t interested in watching it, so we’re not wasting his time with it), I have come around to liking certain espadrille shoes and non-Fage Greek yogurt, and I am still frustrated with my inability to read a map. More anon.

I am working on a proposal for another book in the vein of Vanity Fare, and also looking forward to my June novella, a historical titled Her Betrothed’s Dilemma, and a full-length historical in October called What Not to Bare.

So Hero of My Heart was released yesterday, and it seems to be doing well, which is fantastic.

And to coincide with that book’s release, Vanity Fare‘s e-book price for both Amazon and Barnes and Noble has dropped to $2.99 as well (it’s normally right around $9, so that is a huge discount!), matching the price of Hero of My Heart. So for less than six dollars you can get BOTH my releases, which is nifty.

April 8–the release date for Hero of My Heart–is less than a week away, and yet it seems so far away. I am excited for people to be able to read (and love, or hate, or meh) this book; it was wonderful and agonizing to write, and it has one of my favorite heroes ever, probably because he’s by far my most damaged.

I am still working on a new proposal, but returning to real life after vacation has been a difficulty, plus there’s the whole helping the rest of the Framptons return to real life thing as well. But today I think I might have come close to smelling spring, and that is lovely, and it’s already Wednesday night, which means only two more days until the day when I can sleep past 6:15am, and that is also lovely.

Can you tell I have little news besides “OOH, MY BOOK?”

Yeah.
